Subak - Bali, world cultural heritage

Bali is famous for its beautiful beaches and temples. and now UNESCO introduce Bali with agricultural system, especially 5 rice field with irrigation system connected commonly called "Subak", because since 2012 Subak designated by UNESCO as one of the "World Cultural Heritage". Subak etymologically derived from word "Sa-Uwak" (suwak = subak ) which means one uwakan, the distribution of water to irrigate a certain amount of rice field acreage.

this irrigation system is already known to the public of Bali since the 9th century. this system is also regarded as the embodiment of the spiritual world harmony, nature and buildings. Subak also as a blend of Indian culture with the majority of Balinese culture both religious Hinduism. the Subak system contains element of Hindu religion, such as "Tri Hita Karana", in this doctrine rice field as a Palemahan element, manners Subak as a Pawongan element, and Subak temples as a Parahyangan elements. the three elements forms as a unity. Balinese society believes that this Subak irrigation system makes farming in Bali succeed.
