Paro Takstang which also known as Tiger Nest monastery, being
one of the holiest places in the Himalayas, Paro Taktsang Monastery is
included in the most beautiful places of worship in the world. Standing
on a 3,120 meter cliff, the monastery that has the original name
Takstang Palphug is the cultural icon of Bhutan, as well as the most
famous tourist destination. Consisting of four main temples and surrounded by residential areas, Paro Takstang Monastery is very thick with legends. Its
location near the valley and decorated with a stretch of pine forest
makes Paro Taktstang as one of the attractions favored by hiking lovers.
Literally, the word Takstang means tiger nest, while the word Paro comes from the name of the valley where the monastery stands. This monastery is also one of the spiritual tourism destinations, because it is a place for Padmasmabhava meditation. Padmasmabhava was one of the teachers who introduced Buddhism in Bhutan. The monastery, which is located at a glance at the edge of a very high cliff, has seven temples that surround the cave where Master meditates.The terrain that will be passed by tourists to be able to arrive at the tiger nest monastery is quite beautiful, in the form of pine forests with fresh air.
